FAQ

Will someone from ECO-Action come to my community?
Yes, if needed. ECO-Action staff will visit your community to meet and listen to concerned residents.   After initial assessment of needs and after hearing what the community wants, ECO-Action will work out a plan which will include our continuing to visit the community as needed.

Does ECO-Action lobby?
Not in the traditional sense. ECO-Action does not employ a “lobbyist.”   However, we do work with our community-based organizations, allies and resource people in a network to raise awareness, educate officials, and advocate for sound public policies.

Does ECO-Action work in states other than Georgia?
While Georgia --the largest state east of the Mississippi River-- is our primary geographic focus, we have and will work with other communities within the Southeast when feasible.   In addition, ECO-Action trainers are available to consult with state and national groups, serve on panels or conduct trainings at board and staff retreats and conferences.

What alliances or groups does ECO-Action work with?
ECO-Action works with and promotes Breast Cancer Action, Health Care Without Harm, Environmental Health Alliance, Cancer Prevention Coalition, Atlanta Living Wage Coalition, Up and Out of Poverty Now Coalition, and many others.

Does ECO-Action charge for its services?
ECO-Action does not charge a fee for providing organizing assistance to community-based organizations.   There are no charges to communities for site visits and long term strategic help.   ECO-Action charges fees for our leadership development workshops, and special consulting or contract arrangements with established organizations and institutions.

Is ECO-Action the group to call?
